Acomplia Approved for Sale in Brazil

It is declared by Sanofi-Aventis that diet drug Acomplia has been approved for sale in Latin America’s largest country ,Brazil on April 26, 2007.

The diet drug is used as an add-on to diet and exercise for the treatment of obese patients (BMI more than 30) or overweight patients (BMI more than 27) with associated risk factors, such as type 2 diabetes or dyslipidemia.

Now the diet drug is available in Brazil, Argentina and Mexico.

Netherlands has rejected the insurance return for patients purchasing Acomplia. The German state insurance system also rejected insurance repayment to the patients.The French government admits the partial repayment only for obese (not simply overweight) patients who also have inadequately controlled type 2 diabetes.
