Diet Drug Acomplia (Rimonabant) Users and Reimbursement for German users.

The obese people from Germany who take weight loss diet pill acomplia to reduce their weight felt unhappy with the news that they will not be compensating by German state health insurers as a Berlin court upheld a German regulatory body’s decision.

Now as per the court’s decision the patients from Germany will pay for the acomplia from their own pocket.

From June to November of last year diet drug acomplia has been prescribed to almost 50,000 Germans. This figure made Germany biggest market so far for the medicine.

This decision gave second shock to Sanofi-Aventis by the FDA advisory panel which already didn’t approve the diet drug sale in United States due to safety concerns.

The European Medicines Agency has already approved sale of Acomplia in the European Union more than a year ago which is reviewing the FDA committee's decision and new data that was presented at the U.S. meeting.
